Extracted Palette
Palette Extractor - Quick Cheat Sheet
Steps: Load an image → Pick Number of Colors → Click Extract Palette.
Downscaling (Max Working Size) speeds up processing with minimal impact on results.
Clustering: Uses k-means in RGB; results vary slightly each run based on centroid initialization.
Sorting: Colors are sorted by cluster population (dominant first).
HEX & RGB: Click the copy buttons to copy codes for CSS/design tools.
Transparent pixels are ignored; fully white/black backgrounds still count as colors.
Tip: Try 5-8 colors for UI work; 8-12 for photography where subtle tones matter.
Notes & edge cases
Very small or highly compressed images may yield noisy clusters-raise the working size or reduce k.
Extremely large images are auto-scaled to the selected size to avoid memory spikes.
Different lighting (warm/cool) will bias palettes; color-correct your image first if accuracy is critical.
