You can also drag & drop an image here or onto the canvas. Files never leave your browser.
Each painted "block" is this many pixels wide/tall.
Brush radius in blocks (square brush: (2S+1)+ blocks).
Tip: Use a larger block size and higher strength for fast, heavy redaction; smaller settings for precise touch-ups.
Load an image to begin. Then click-and-drag on the canvas to paint pixelated blocks.
Pixelate Brush - Quick Cheat Sheet
Block size: The pixel width/height of each mosaic block you paint.
Strength (S): Square brush radius in blocks. Paints a (2S+1)x(2S+1) cluster of blocks per stroke step.
Undo: Saves a snapshot at the start of every brush stroke. Up to 10 steps kept.
Download: Exports a PNG of the current canvas. Nothing is uploaded to a server.
Drag & drop: Drop images on the loader box or directly on the canvas.
Edges: Blocks are clamped to image boundaries so you can paint right up to the edge safely.
Mobile: Canvas supports touch; if the page scrolls, increase block size so fewer strokes are needed.
How it works (tech notes)
For each painted block, the average RGB of that block's pixels is computed, then a filled rect of that color is drawn over the block.
Brush centers snap to a block grid (based on block size) for clean tiling and consistent mosaic.
Canvas size equals the image's natural size for true pixel accuracy; CSS scales it responsively.
