Transparency: JPG has no alpha. Transparent areas in PNG must be filled with a solid color (choose it above).
Quality: JPG quality 0.9-1.0 ˜ visually lossless (bigger). 0.6-0.8 is a good balance. 0.1-0.4 is small but may show artifacts.
Resizing: Set width or height to auto-scale. Set both to force exact size (may distort aspect ratio).
Color space: Output assumes sRGB via the browser canvas.
Metadata: Canvas export strips EXIF/metadata. If you need to preserve metadata, convert offline with a metadata-aware tool.
Orientation: Some PNGs carry orientation in metadata; canvas renders the raster as-is (EXIF isn't applied).
Privacy: Conversion happens locally in your browser; no files are uploaded.
How sizes are chosen
Default: output equals original raster size.
If only width is set: height = width ÷ (original aspect ratio).
If only height is set: width = height x (original aspect ratio).
If both are set: exact size is used (aspect ratio may change).
