Local only: Conversion happens in your browser - files are never uploaded.
Quality: 60-85 is a good start. Lower values shrink files further but may introduce artifacts.
Resize: Set max width/height to downscale while preserving aspect ratio. Leave blank to keep original dimensions.
Orientation: We honor EXIF orientation where supported; if your output looks rotated, your browser may lack this feature.
Metadata: Canvas-based conversion removes EXIF/IPTC metadata by design.
Support: AVIF download requires browser support for canvas.toBlob('image/avif'). If not supported, we'll let you know.
Transparency: JPG has no alpha; AVIF supports it, but converting from JPG yields an opaque image.
Privacy/Security: External images loaded cross-origin may be blocked from canvas export (CORS).

How sizing works

We read the intrinsic dimensions of your JPG.
If both Max width and Max height are set, we scale to fit within that box (aspect preserved).
If only one limit is set, the other dimension is computed from the aspect ratio.
If neither is set, we keep the original size.
