Converter Details

Quick answer: This tool converts values between supported units inside a selected category using deterministic formulas and shared base-unit normalization where applicable.

Use it for common metric, imperial, scientific, and computing conversions.

  • Length: metric and imperial distance units
  • Mass: grams, kilograms, pounds, ounces, and more
  • Temperature: Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin
  • Area / Volume: practical geometry and liquid measurements
  • Speed / Time / Pressure / Energy / Data: common engineering and everyday conversions
Unit availability and exact formulas are controlled by the tool-specific JavaScript file.

FAQ

Does this converter work entirely in the browser?

Yes. The conversion logic is client-side for speed, privacy, and deterministic behavior.

Why are some results rounded?

Display precision controls visible output formatting. Internal math can still use higher precision before formatting the final result.

Why is temperature handled differently?

Temperature conversions are not simple multiply-only scaling. They require offset-aware formulas such as °F to °C and K to °C.

Can I share a conversion setup?

Yes. Shareable URLs should be created only through the Share Link button, not automatically while typing or changing fields.
