MPG (miles per gallon) = miles ÷ gallons. Higher is better.
km/L (kilometers per liter) = km ÷ L. Higher is better.
L/100 km (liters per 100 km) = (L ÷ km) × 100. Lower is better.
Conversions: 1 mi = 1.609344 km; 1 km = 0.621371 mi; 1 gal (US) = 3.785412 L.
Tip: Enter either mi/gal or km/L—this tool normalizes, then shows all three metrics.
Validation: Distance and fuel must be positive numbers.
Edge cases & notes
If distance or fuel is extremely small, results may be unstable—use realistic trip values.
We use the US gallon. If you prefer Imperial gallon, note that 1 Imp gal = 4.54609 L (not used here).
All math is unit-consistent and rounded only for display; internal calculations retain float precision.
