Multiplying Fractions — Quick Cheat Sheet

• Acceptable inputs: integers (5), fractions (3/4), mixed numbers (2 1/3), negatives (-7/8).
• Convert mixed to improper: a b/c = (a·c + b)/c, carry the sign.
• Multiply across: multiply all numerators together and all denominators together.
• Simplify: divide numerator and denominator by their GCD.
• Mixed form: for n/d, whole = ⌊|n|/d⌋, remainder = |n| mod d, keep sign on the whole.
• Zero/denominator: denominator cannot be zero; if numerator is zero, result is 0.
• Tip: You can pre-simplify each term before multiplying to keep numbers small.
